Deputy Prime Minister Trịnh Đình Dũng has ordered the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) to urgently review and issue a list of industries that pose a high risk of polluting the environment. The Ministry was asked to co-operate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Construction and relevant agencies to complete the task. The list would serve as a foundation for the Government while considering the approval of foreign direct investment projects into Việt Nam in the future.

     The MONRE has prepared a project to specifically monitor  producers that have a greater likelihood of polluting the environment and submitted it to Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc for consideration. Further, the nine localities of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu, Bến Tre, Bình Phước and Đắk Lắk, as well as Quảng Nam, Quảng Ngãi, Tiền Giang, Trà Vinh and Cần Thơ to issue their action programme on environmental protection within this month following the direction of the Prime Minister.
